Wisdom Teeth Extraction

Wisdom Teeth Extraction

Wisdom teeth, if not removed, can become problematic, resulting in pain, infection & other dental problems. But getting them removed doesn’t always have to be an ordeal.

Wisdom teeth are the third molars at the very back of your mouth that usually come in around ages 17-20. Most patients will be able to feel when wisdom teeth start to come in. When this happens, it’s important to make an appointment for one of our dentists to evaluate your situation. We will take updated x-rays & visually inspect the area where your wisdom teeth are coming in. If we determine that you should undergo wisdom teeth extraction, we will create a treatment plan for you.

The details of the wisdom teeth extraction procedure vary greatly from one patient to another. Generally, it is a straightforward oral surgery that has a recovery time of only a few days. Most extractions require some form of sedation & anesthesia, so we will work with you to figure out which form of sedation & pain control is right for you. Once you have had your wisdom teeth removed, you’ll be back to eating your favorite foods in a few days & you won’t have to worry about your wisdom teeth causing problems in the future.
