The special Zoom activated gel is a scientifically formulated, pH balanced Hydrogen Peroxide that is applied to the teeth, and then activated by the Zoom light. This light contains a unique infrared filter. When applied to the gel on the teeth, the light activates the gel and helps penetrate the surface of the tooth, reducing the amount of heat (and therefore sensitivity) on the surface of the teeth. The internal structure of the teeth remains completely healthy and intact during and after the treatment. The Zoom whitening gel breaks down into tiny oxygen bubbles. The Oxygen enters the surface of the tooth, bleaching any colored substance while keeping the structure of the tooth unchanged.
